Binh Thuan


The topography of Binh Thuan Province is divided into three categories: mountainous, plain and coastal. This region is endowed with a 192-kilometer long coast with many capes such as: La Gan, Mui Nho, Mui Rom, Mui Ne, Ke Ga. All of them create beautiful seaports for tourists: La Gan – Phan Ri, Mui Ne – Phan Thiet, La Gi, of which Mui Ne Phan Thiet has a great potential on tourism attracting thousands of local and foreign visitors every year. Offshore located the Phu Quy District, which bridging the mainland to Truong Sa Island.

 

Binh Thuan Province is lying in the monsoon tropical area, so it possesses two distinct seasons: the dry season and the rainy season. The rainy season lasts from May to October and the dry season begins in November and ends at the end of April following year. The climate of Binh Thuan is not much influenced by the North-east monsoon; therefore, it still preserved in Binh Thuan a hot and dry weather with the annual average temperature between 27ºC and the yearly rainfall of 800mm - 1,500mm.

Thanks to owning many forests, Binh Thuan has a strong point in developing the industrial fields of wood, cashew nut processing and handicraft. The priority of being blessed a long coast-side brings Quang Binh a convenient chance to expand marine economy such as fish catching, salt and fish sauce processing and frozen sea-food. Moreover, Binh Thuan attracts a huge number of tourists by a charming beauty of lovely landscapes around. Tourists will be impressed by picturesque scenery of mountains lying from west to east and reaching beautiful beaches. Phan Thiet, Mui Ne, Doi Duong and Ham Tan can be named as some famous tourist sites for foreign tourists. Staying there, tourists can experience leisure activities such as swimming, fishing, climbing, yachting, golf playing in many beaches and resorts such as Vinh Hao - Tuy Phong, Hon Rom, Novotel Ocean Dunes, etc.

 

Binh Thuan has a diversified and long-standing culture of many minorities in Vietnam. There are about 30 minorities living together in this area, of which the majority are Kinh, Cham, Hoa, Ra Giai, Co Ho and Tay. Particularly, here preserved the original Cham architecture with many terracotta high towers and statues of Kings, Queens … Also, the traditional costumes, musical instruments, traditional songs and dances of the ancient Sa Huynh and Cham Culture are still kept intact to present. Traveling to this site, tourists can go to many old architecture constructions such as temples, towers, pagodas, tombs … and visit historical and archaeological vestiges, as well as take part in traditional festival of Viet and Cham. All of these make a peculiar and original Binh Thuan, which welcome many visitors annually.
